How to Reduce our carbon footprint?

When completing the FEWW assignment over the weekend it made me realize how much energy and water we waste on a regular basis. It is not about what amounts we use it or why but more so how we use energy and water in our daily lives thats creating a large carbon footprint. When reflecting I realized that I am wasting energy/water without even thinking about it. For example, when brushing my teeth or taking care of my face I let the tap water run for an unreasonable amount of time. Likewise I believe that I do my laundry too frequently and as a result waste water and energy to only contribute to my carbon footprint. While I realize those are small wastes in comparison to others, it is a vast improvement to what it was before college.
In my opinion, coming to college already decreased my carbon footprint by a significant level due to the fact I only use public transportation instead of my car, I eat foot at TDR, I only have access to a couple lights, I don't have a TV, I'm not dependent upon a dishwasher or refrigerator and my access to  high water/energy preparation foods is very limited.
In conclusion, as I'm in my first year in college, I believe that my carbon footprint has already dropped significantly, however, there are still aspects of my daily routine that I can improve upon in order to make the world a better more environmentally friendly place. The takeaway from this blog post is to really reflect upon yourself and your daily routine and figure out what you can do better to save energy/water and food. Sometimes we do things without realizing the effects of our actions and it is fundamentally important to be able to realize that in everyone's life there are small things we can all adjust to improve our personal carbon footprints.
